Scar Therapy

What is Scar Therapy?

Scar tissue is less functional. As your body heals after an injury or surgery, scar tissue forms. Scar tissue is fibrotic and less mobile then pre-injury. Adhesions may form, sticking together layers under the skin.

Scar therapy is a non-invasive treatment using massage, fascial release, and therapy tools to improve the appearance, flexibility, and function of scar tissue by stimulating the body's natural healing processes. Our Scar Therapy Practitioner Liesa uses the RESTORE Scar Therapy method.

The RESTORE Scar Therapy method

A method of non-invasive physical therapy developed to treat scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions. Using specialist scar massage and fascial release, therapy tools and selfcare advice to promote healthy recovery. You can find out more at the RESTORE Scar Therapy website.

How can it help?

Reduce common symptoms such as pain and sensitivity.

Stimulate change to scar tissue on the skin surface, and to
adhesions or fibrosis in the underlying tissue.

Promote functional and cosmetic improvements to the scar tissue created after surgery
or injury.

Gentle treatment with excellent results

The RESTORE method has been developed by the UK's leading scar therapy teacher and Harley Street scar specialist, Emma Holly. RESTORE scar therapy method is used within the NHS and leading private healthcare providers. A course of treatment is usually recommended, but a single session and self-care advice for you to follow at home can be helpful.

Scar Therapy

Will my scar vanish?

No, we can’t make your scar tissue disappear. Results vary, and early treatment is recommended for best cosmetic improvements. It’s never too late and old scars can benefit as well.

What can you expect?

RESTORE scar therapy has been developed to stimulate the bodies natural healing processes, in order to create changes in scar tissue. This will usually leave you feeling relaxed and may give a sensation of lightness and mobility at the end of the appointment. Some people feel tired. Just listen to your body in terms of post-treatment activity.
